The Teddy Charity
www.teddycharity.co.uk/whatwedo.php
The Teddy Charity was formed in 1998 when the founders realised there was no government funding or mechanism for medical equipment for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses being nursed at home. Without such equipment children in hospital cannot return to their families, freeing a hospital bed for another young patient (the operating cost of a single NHS bed has recently been estimated at more than Posted at 4:59am on Thu, May 28 2009

Operation Teddy Bear
operationteddybear.ca/HomePage.html
The decision to fundraise for Camp Trillium was an easy one as our family has had the pleasure of attending this camp for 9 years now and it has been quite an uplifting experience. Fundraising for Camp Trillium is our family's way of trying to give back a little of what has been given to us. Camp Trillium is in Picton, Ontario and all the children who go to this camp from areas in Ontario will benefit from our fundraiser. Posted at 5:12am on Thu, May 28 2009

The Teddies for Tragedies movement
www.teddiesfortragedies.org.uk/indexabout.html
Teddies for Tragedies is not a registered charity, it has no central organisation, no rules, regulations, or subscription fees. It is just a knitting (and crochet) pattern. Most British teddies go to Africa, eastern Europe and Asia, though not exclusively. How it began In 1986 a washable knitted teddy was added to a consignment of medicines going to a refugee camp in the Sudan. The doctors replied "These teddies do more good than the medicines. They cheer the children up, give them hope, and soon they are on the road to recovery" Teddy knitting began, a bag was added, increasing play value and In 1991, Teddies for Tragedies began in Guildford Surrey and there are now many branches throughout the country. Branches collect, check and pack teddies. They find locally supported, aid groups and charities, working with children in tragic circumstances, who would appreciate the gift of teddies for their children. Posted at 5:41am on Thu, May 28 2009

The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation
www.teddybearcancerfoundation.org/abouttbcf.html
The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation was inspired by a three year old boy diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Two years later, he suffered a relapse. One day his mother broke down in tears as she shared the hardships she and her family had faced. She spoke of unplanned and extended hospital stays, expensive medications, sometimes costing as much as $1,000.00 after insurance. Furthermore, she shared the dilemma of giving up her income in order to care for her son and accompany him on hospital stays. She also faced the fear of not knowing whether her son would live. She and her family were seemingly drowning because even though there was support it still was not enough assistance to help them during this difficult time. After this conversation I realized the great need for a support system for families with children suffering from cancer on the Central Coast. One year later, with the determination to assist families enduring similar if not the same situation, the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation was born. Posted at 4:57am on Thu, May 28 2009

Bupa/Teddies Supporting Sarnelli
www.justgiving.com/karenbarker
The objective of the project iwas to help the orphanage in its quest to raise awareness of the problems of HIV and AIDS in Thailand, whilst bettering the lives of the children living there by building new facilities over a six week period. Community Connections plans to develop a sustainable relationship with the orphanage and encourage a stronger relationship with its BUPA business in Thailand. After returning from Sarnelli my life changed completely and I wake up each day thinking about the children and my new found friends. I am planning to return in Dec 09 with my son and friends to paint and restore some more of the orphanage and hopefully reunite with friends. I know you all supported me last year but am asking again if not cash maybe a raffle gift for my planned fund raising raffles.I thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Posted at 6:30am on Thu, May 28 2009
