I have been making and crafting since being young. My mother was
always sewing and I always had bits of fabric to play with. Over
the years I have made rag dolls and bears for my own daughters.
Also nieces and nephews, at the last count is was 26 of them, and
it is now the next generation are on their way.
As my own daughters are grown and leaving the nest, I can now
indulge my desire to make collector's teddy bears.
I cannot resist any piece of fabric be it mohair, quality tweed,
wool, you name I will make a bear out of it. Up-cycling fabric is
also great fun, but I cannot resist all the different types and
colours of mohair fabric.
I don't just have one bear design, I cannot resist drawing up
another pattern that pops into my head and then my fingers itch to
get sewing and see what bear born from the pattern and the chosen
fabric. Each bear, even when using the same pattern will always
come out with a different character. Bear making is an addiction...
